Being Thankful : Casey Family Photos
Heather contacted me many months ago to do a family portrait as a gift for her grandparents. There was also another very special arrangement as part of this session: Heather's cousin, Jessica, passed away from Leukemia and her favorite color was red. To honor Jessica's memory, the family decided to wear red and release red balloons as a celebration of her life.
Here's Grandma and Grandpa... she was a firecracker! And he was a sweetie. :)
Some smaller groupings of the families...
This is Jessica's mom, Donna and Jessica's nurse, Toni. They released a ballon together in Jessie's honor. It was very touching and I was happy to capture the moment.
After my brother died, I saw my mom deal with the loss of her child and I felt a special connection with Donna.
The emotion on her face when she released that balloon is telling of the loss, memory, and love she feels for Jessie.
It warms my heart to see a connected and loving family. I thank God for allowing me to be part of the Casey's photo experience.
In addition to this loving family (and with it being Thanksgiving this week) I want to remind you to be thankful for what big, little, or crazy family you may have. :)
You never know what life may bring, enjoy what you have, while you have it.
Happy Thanksgiving!
